Nutrition

Among U.S. adults, more than 90 percent of type 2 diabetes, 80 percent of coronary artery disease, 70 percent of stroke, and 70 percent of colon cancer are potentially preventable by a combination of nonsmoking, avoidance of being overweight, moderate physical activity, healthy diet, and moderate alcohol consumption (Willett 2002). https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/b...

So here is the good news. If we are responsible for causing most of our own diseases we can often turn things around if we make the necessary changes in our lifestyle. Many disease processes are reversible. For instance type 2 diabetes can be reversed in as little as 30 days with appropriate dietary changes. According to the Cleveland Clinic, heart disease can be prevented and reversed though diet alone.

As an example of the power of food as medicine, colon cancer may be prevented with the introduction of certain foods in your diet. For instance while many cruciferous vegetables have sulforaphane, broccoli and broccoli sprouts have the highest amount and thus could be a major player in the prevention of prostate and colon cancer. A saying that I have observed to be true is this, “you either pay up front by getting the right information to prevent the disease or you pay later to nurse a disease. Either way everyone pays.” So if you want someone that has done the research and can coach you through you’re issue, I am here to help.
