Over time certain muscles can become weak while others become tight. These imbalances in time can predispose you to injury and pain. There are names given to muscle patterns that I described above. One is called upper crossed syndrome that relates to the muscle conditions in your neck the other is lower crossed syndrome that relates to muscles in your lower back. (See diagram below)
By correcting these imbalances you can reduce your chances of re injury and at the same time improve your posture.
